Agency Work for Crisis Resolution Nurses

Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) teams provide intensive support to people in mental health crisis as an alternative to hospital admission. Agency crisis nurses are essential to maintaining these services 24/7.

What shifts are available?

Crisis assessment — rapid mental health assessments in A&E, community and home settings

Home treatment — intensive daily visits providing medication, monitoring and therapeutic support

Section 136 suites — assessing individuals brought in by police under the Mental Health Act

Psychiatric liaison — working alongside A&E teams to assess mental health presentations

What do you need to register?

Active NMC PIN

Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council registration — verified automatically through Pulse.

Enhanced DBS

An enhanced DBS certificate less than 12 months old. Must include check against barred lists.

Right to Work

Proof of your right to work in the UK — British passport, settled status or valid visa.

How much can you earn?

Crisis team shifts are well-compensated at £27–£35/hr for days and £33–£42/hr for nights. Unsocial hours premiums are standard for 24/7 crisis cover.
